What Our Members Our Saying

You don’t learn about the Bible from a lecturer or a priest but from reading on your own with insight from a great commentary, member discussion, and the witnesses shared. In the CS we make friends with like-minded Christian Catholics.

Excellent opportunity to explore the Scriptures and Fellowship with devoted Christians. Well-organized management of meetings. Zoom Branches are an opportunity to visit and then decide to enroll. No pressure.

The Cornerstone is a guided and prayerful way to study and read scripture. Even more profound is to share and live the study with fellow Christians on the journey. The small group sharing provides affirmations of faith and the joy of building friendships within our welcoming Cornerstone Community.

The Cornerstone provides a structured way to spend time in the Word of God each day and connect to the Word by applying it to my daily life. It builds a faith community in our Catholic Church that helps us grow closer through faith, sharing, and prayer.

The faith-sharing in our small groups is what is special to me about The Cornerstone. The Holy Spirit speaks to each of us differently, and I have often had a new insight when someone shares an answer that the Holy Spirit gave them. It is a great way to study the Bible and get insight into the deeper meanings, that are available as well as how pertinent scripture is to us now.

I’m a six year participant in Cornerstone Scripture Study and each fall I can’t wait for the next session to start. The study questions draw out the meaning of each lesson and as we discuss them in class the input from members adds more depth to my understanding of the Bible. Becoming a member of Cornerstone Scripture Study group is the best gift I’ve given myself in years!

Cornerstone has given life and meaning to scriptures I have been hearing and reading my entire life. Cornerstone has introduced me to the authors of scripture as living breathing people who have undergone trials and tribulations just as I have. They have reinforced the notion that God is in control of the universe and all that is in it. I have seen how they have persevered and that I will persevere if I have faith and trust in God.

For me, Cornerstone offers the unique blend of the history of our faith, the sharing of our beliefs and the benefits of belonging to a community that is filled with love, compassion and understanding. No other Bible study has offered this powerful combination.

The Holy Spirit works through the people I share my scripture lessons with. They provide support t and friendship that leads me to a closer relationship with Jesus. Cornerstone makes me think, which increases my faith and love of God. Cornerstone promotes sharing of your faith-filled answers in each lesson. (The O’Fallon, IL, Branch has childcare available!)

The Community is one major pull that keeps me coming back to Cornerstone every year. I truly believe that we were meant to grow our faith in communion with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is said in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. “ The spiritual growth I have been blessed with is exponential, and I do not believe I could have done it on my own in solitude. True growth in the faith takes time, commitment and consistency. Slow and steady incremental change results in transformation.

The Cornerstone reveals the truth and fullness of revelation through scripture and the Holy Spirit. Come as you are and you will grow closer to Jesus and other believers. You don’t have to be full of knowledge to study God’s Word; you just have to have a desire to know the truth, know God, and grow in your faith. Jesus will meet you where you are and guide you on your journey.

As if learning God’s Word and applying His Divine teaching wasn’t sufficient, we get to journey this path together, encouraging each other throughout. This is doable! God will take your Yes and any effort you make to get to know HIS heart and make miracles occur!

That we follow Catholic doctrine. I have been in 2 other bible studies that were non-denominational.
